Meet Chive Charities | Champion for the Underdogs

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shoutout Colorado and we’ve shared our conversation below.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chive Charities and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chive Charities, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Our community IS our brand and is the driving force behind our success. Everything we do is powered by our unstoppable, compassionate crew of donors, doers, and difference-makers who believe in making the world 10% happier by turning impossible into possible. It’s not just about fundraising, it’s about rallying behind Veterans, military families, first responders and rare medical individuals, shining a light where the system falls short and showing up in meaningful, tangible ways.

We don’t follow a traditional nonprofit model. Our success comes from storytelling to tens of thousands each week that pulls people in, transparency that keeps them engaged and an unwavering belief that if you build a community rooted in kindness and purpose, the impact will follow. And it has. Hundreds of lives changed, one grant and one act of kindness at a time, allowing us to create a ripple effect of goodwill.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Chive Charities, we’re not your average nonprofit—and that’s by design. We exist to champion the ones who feel forgotten, the outliers, and the overlooked.

What sets us apart? It’s our approach. We combine the heart of a nonprofit with the energy of a grassroots movement. We don’t just raise funds—we rally a community. Our donors are as invested in the people we serve as we are. It’s not about charity from afar—it’s about connection, dignity, and impact you can feel.

We’re most proud of the lives we’ve changed, nearly 700 recipients and counting in 12 years. Veterans exposed to toxic burn pits who finally get the equipment they need. Children with rare diseases who now have life-changing medical devices and therapies. First responders getting crucial access to mental health resources. Families who feel seen, heard, and supported—many for the first time.

Getting here wasn’t easy. It all started with a simple idea and a big goal: to fill the massive wall at our headquarters with the faces of those we’ve helped. But from the beginning, our greatest challenge has been awareness. Most of our recipients don’t have national headlines or viral campaigns—they’re quietly fighting unimaginable battles in the background.

As the wall has grown, so has the need. And with that, the heartbreak of having to say no—not because someone isn’t worthy, but because resources only go so far. Those we haven’t yet been able to help weigh just as heavily on us as those we have. Their faces stay with us, driving us to do more, reach further, and fight harder.

The biggest lesson we’ve learned? Authenticity wins and kindness still prevails. People want purpose. And if you lead with heart and keep showing up, others will too.

What we want the world to know is this: you don’t have to be a millionaire or a celebrity to make a difference. You just have to care. Chive Charities is proof that a group of passionate people—fueled by a community built on kindness—can create massive ripple effects of hope.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
While not specifically in Denver, Storybrook Brewing has served as a host location for our Southern Colorado Chive chapter as they party with a purpose to raise funds to support our mission! This year, the top-performing chapter will earn the incredible honor of hosting our 2026 Family Reunion in your hometown — the most anticipated gathering of the year, where our entire community comes together to celebrate impact and party with a purpose.

We are turning friendly competition into lasting change. Maybe Colorado will be the next host site?

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
From day one, it’s been this incredible, passionate group of misfits, givers, and everyday heroes who have stepped up, time and time again, to support the underdogs and fill the gaps where traditional systems fall short.

Whether it’s rallying around a veteran who needs adaptive equipment, funding a medical grant insurance won’t cover, or getting a service dog the training they need to live out their purpose, our community shows up. Loudly. Generously. Relentlessly. Without them, none of this would be possible.

We’d also give a huge nod to our recipients—the brave individuals and families who allow us to share their stories. Their resilience is the reason we do what we do, and their courage inspires action across the nation.

So to our community, our recipients, and everyone who believes in the mission of making the world 10% happier—you deserve all the credit in the world.
